Box Profile Rooflights

Box Profile Rooflights
Box Profile glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) rooflights are rolled to a 32/1000 specification to fit alongside box profile roofing sheets. This means that the coverage of the cladding sheet is 1000mm (1 meter) once they are lapped and fitted. It also means that the depth of the profile from the top of the profile to the bottom of the valleys is 32mm.

Details

Box Profile rooflights are rolled using a composite material known as glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), which is also known as Fiberglass in the US. This fibre-reinforced polymer roofing sheet is reinforced by fine fibres made of class, which also make the material transparent, allowing light to pass through. This makes it a perfect composite for rooflight roofing sheets, as they have the strength required, whilst allowing light into the building from outside.

The benefits of usign GRP/fibreglass for roofing sheets include:

  • Has a good weight to strength ratio
  • Is corrosion resistant
  • Is water resistant
  • It is light-weight
  • Is non-conductive
