Coir Pallets & Sods are used to sustainably support wetland environments and are an excellent solution for erosion control and vegetation restoration. Each have been made using contaminant-free virgin coir fibre to satisfy important environmental considerations.

Biodegradable Coir Pallets are coconut fibre mattress substrates to protect and support river banks and shorelines to promote the restoration of your environment. Coir Sods are sods of compressed coir fibre which environmentally maintain and improve the surrounding environment.

Coir Pallets:

Able to effectively shield the ground from weather and water erosion with the fine fibre matrix filtering out silts and promoting sedimentation. General water quality in your wetland will consequently be improved through the ability to control erosion and counteract non-point source pollution.

Coir Pallets also provide a stable growth substrate for marginal plants encouraging rapid establishment of plant colonies and healthy root systems. Pallets are ideal where no suitable soil medium exists such as steel piles or gabions. Plants can then be selected for their suitability to the surrounding physical conditions and the cover they can provide to wildlife and aquatic species. With roots maturing over time to create an effective binding matrix, the coir fibre progressively degrades to leave a vegetation framework for a full wetland community.

Coir Sods:

Will provide an innovative, green erosion control system in your wetlands to provide environmental and ecological regeneration when gabions are combined with immediate vegetation. Coir Sods are also used as vigorous vegetative cover along the top front edge or upper face of a hard structure at the water line to create a soft engineering finish to hard engineering solutions.
