Road Plates are made of mild steel and we supply them in a range of steel gauges in order to best suit your needs. We recommend using 13mm thick steel road plates for pedestian use and the thicker 19mm steel road plates for allowing vehicles to pass over them. Road plates are normally used to cover temporary excavations in the highways network to assist with the flow of traffic when work is not being carried out. Although road plates are also often used in other construction/demolition works, as well as in private environments.
All of our road plates are supplied with a hole in each of the four corners of the road plate, which are also known as road plate lifitng eyes. This allows for the steel road plates to be chained for easier handling when placing and removing the road plates.
This varierty of road plate is a simple finish, non-treated, steel road plate. We also supply anti-skid & anti-slip road plates which have skid/slip resistant top surfaces. To enquire about these please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that we do not supply any loading data on our range of road plates and that it is the customers responsibility to ensure that the road plate being used is suitable for the job intended. We suggest consulting a suitable professional, such as a structural engineer, before using a road plate.
