Coir Mesh
Our Coir Mesh comes into three available grades of varying weights and is recommended for use on sites where erosion forces are harsh and plants are slow to establish. Open weave, pure coconut coir mesh blankets typically used on riverbanks, drainage channels, exposed sites on uplands / coasts, for wildflower restoration and recreation areas with high abrasion.
Coir Mesh erosion control matting will control soil loss and promote sedimentation to create a mico-climate to promote vegetative growth, shelter seeds against windrock and decompose to provide prolonged protection. All mesh blankets have a high tensile strength which can be utilised to offer temporary soil reinforcement.
Our 400g option is typically used for holding down turg and heather brashings. The 700g option is an excellent solution for the general erosion control of banks and slopes. The 900g matting is suitably used for erosion control alongside rivers, streams, swales and run-off ditches.
