Forklift self-tipping skips are the ideal way to transfer materials and rubbish. The forklift self-tipping skip model’s body is manufactured in 3mm mild steel plate. In order to strengthen our tipping skips further and make them more durable we re-enforce the tops of the tipping skips. All other manufacturers bend the top of the tipping skips sides and backs at a 90 degree angle. We go one step further and force the angle back on itself, creating a strengthened D shape return.

All of our Forklift tipping skips are mounted on either a 4-way entry base or 2-way entry (suitable for castors). The 4-way entry bases allow for the forklift tipping skips to be lifted from either the back or from the sides. Other features of our tipping skips include a tip handle which simply releases the skip, a self-return and automatic reset mechanism once the tipping skip is empty, and a safety retaining chain that allows you to secure the tipping skip to the forklift, thereby stopping the tipping skip from sliding off the forks.

Forklift tipping skip fork tunnels are made using 4mm steel tunnels & unlike some competitors skips they have a 5mm re-enforcing steel bar. This re-enforcing bar is critical for minimising wear and tear to the tipping skip. Forklift Forks can run through the entire forklift tipping skip if they are long enough, however most forks are between 1000mm and 1220mm, with our Forklift Self Tipping Skip guides being 1250mm long and our Telehandler Tipping Skip guides being 1400mm long.

All of our forklift tipping skips, which are manufactured in the United Kingdom to the highest quality standards, are C.E. marked and come complete with full instructions. We are so confident in the quality of our tipping skips that we offer free demonstrations and trials to all major house builders across the UK. We are convinced that once you have used our forklift tipping skips for a week you will also agree that they are the most durable and best value for money tipping skips available on the market.

What is the difference between a Tipping Skip - Heavy Duty & Forklift Self-Tipping Skips?

Heavy duty tipping skips are manufactured using 5mm thick mild steel, whereas the Forklift Self-Tipping Skips are manufactured using 3mm thick mild steel. This makes the heavy duty tipping skip more durable. The forklift self-tipping skips have re-enforced edges, that are folded back on themselves to give the skip greater strength. This is not needed for the heavier duty skip, which have simple folded edges instead.

What is the difference between a Forklift Tipping Skip & a Telehandler Tipping Skip?

Our heavy-duty forklift tipping skips & forklift-self tipping skips are designed to be lifted and tipped using a forklift. They are fitted with safety chains, which are secured to the forklift. They sit on a pivot and once the latch is released on the back of the tipping skip they roll forward emptying their contents. They are then self-righted and the latch secures them back into place. In comparison the telehandler tipping skip is designed to work on a telehandler. As such there is no need for a tipping mechanism, spring or safety chain. Instead the telehandler fork enter the telehandler skip and the gas strut on the back of the telehandler tipping skip automatically locks the skip to the forks. The contents of a telehandler tipping skip are emptied, not by the skip rolling forward, but instead by the telehandler tipping the entire skip by leaning forward.

Telehandler tipping skips are becoming increasingly popular on building sites where telehandlers are present. This is because with a forklift tipping skip the driver has to step out of the forklift in order to release the tipping latch and this creates a potential health and safety hazard if not monitored correctly. In comparison as the telehandler physically tips the entire telehandler tipping skip, there is no need for the telehandler operator to ever leave the safety of their cab.

FAQ

How wide are the forks pockets on the Forklift Tipping Skips & Telehandler Tipping Skips?

The fork pockets on all of our Forklift Tipping Skips and Telehandler Tipping Skips are 140mm wide, although we can make these 160mm upon request. The spread between the fork pockets is 920mm (inner-inner). This enable you to spread your forks, on a standard fork truck, as wide as they will go. Allowing you to maximise the distance over which the weight of the tipping skip is spread and increasing how stable the tipping skip is on the forklift forks.
